Fire safety on board

M/S Fjärdvägen has been inspected and is equipped with an approved fire alarm system and fire-fighting equipment. There is a sprinkler system covering the entire car deck, as well as approved firefighter and smoke-diving equipment that meets regulatory requirements.

  • Fire drills are carried out weekly. The crew receives regular training both ashore and on board.

On M/S Fjärdvägen, cabins where pets are allowed are available. If travelling with a pet, this must be stated when booking the cabin. Pet owners are responsible for their own animals. Pet owners who leave animals in vehicles during the sea crossing do so at their own risk. Instructions for motorcycles on the car deck

Motorcycles loaded onto the car deck are placed along the side of the vessel. Once directed to the assigned position, first gear must be engaged and the side stand deployed. Central stands must not be used, as the vehicle may tip over during the crossing. The crew will of course assist with securing the motorcycle if required.

Restaurants

On board the vessel there is a café/restaurant. In addition, vending machines are available for coffee, beverages and light snacks.

Accessibility and assistance services

The cargo vessel M/S Fjärdvägen only accepts passengers travelling with a car. Due to its design, the vessel is not accessible and assistance services are not offered at the ports served. We do not recommend M/S Fjärdvägen for persons with disabilities.

Handling of gas cylinders on board

Gas cylinders used in motorhomes, caravans and similar vehicles may be transported provided the following conditions are met:

  • A maximum of 60 litres of LPG may be transported per vehicle in total (1 kg of gas corresponds to approximately 2 litres of gas in liquid form).

  • The cargo must be intended for personal use, household use or sports and leisure activities.
  • Gas may only be transported in vehicles that have been inspected and approved for this purpose.

Rules regarding gas cylinders on board the vessel and within terminal areas:

  • Gas cylinders must be declared at check-in to the staff. The staff will provide instructions and place a sticker or tape indicating where the gas cylinders are located in the vehicle.
  • The main valve of the gas system must be closed. All gas appliances, such as stoves and refrigerators, must be switched off throughout the crossing and within the terminal area.
  • Cylinders must be stored upright to ensure that the safety valve functions correctly.
